📌 Introduction :-
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is a centrally sponsored scheme that provides financial assistance to pregnant women and lactating mothers to support their nutrition and health during pregnancy and postpartum.
🎯 Objective:-
To compensate women for the loss of work-related income during pregnancy and delivery.
To improve the nutrition and health of mother and child.
It is being run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development under the Mission Shakti program.
👩👧👧 Who are the beneficiaries?
Pregnant women and lactating mothers aged 19 years and above.
Only for the first living child (benefits for the second child are available only if the child is a girl).
Aadhaar card and bank account of the woman are required.

❗ Important Points:
This scheme is applicable only on the first living child (benefit on second child only if it is a girl).
Women who are already receiving maternity benefit from any other government scheme are not eligible for this scheme.
